360 Degree Head Turn Animation:(Zoetrope) For this task, I've created 360 degree head turn of my Boudicca character. To create this animation, I've used 12 frames.  I think that this work is successful because I've thought about patterns, textures and Boudicca's facial expression. I believe that the patterns and textures work well with the simple line work. Also, I think that the facial expression presents this characters personality.   To improve this animation, I think that her ears need to be drawn differently when she is facing the side. This task has been useful because it has helped me to get used to drawing this character from different angles.

Walk Cycle: Final Outcome I was given the task to create a walk cycle. For this piece of work, I decided to make this animation traditionally.  The first and last frames are the same so the walk cycle appears to be on a loop.  I enjoyed creating this piece of work as I was able to learn a new technique within animation. This technique will be useful for when I'm creating my final piece. For this animation, I didn't just focus on the walk cycle alone. I also considered facial expressions ,movement of the monster fur and arm movement. I believe that this has made my work successful because I've presented the uses of solid drawing and secondary action. However, to improve this animation, I do think that the movement of the arm could be altered. Also, I think that applying the uses of squash and stretch to this character could of revealed more of the monster's personality.

Anticipation: To show the uses of anticipation, I have created a short animation traditionally. After drawing the frames, I made the animation by using the Stop Motion Studio app. Anticipation is shown within this animation when the girl bends her leg backwards to get ready to kick the ball.  To create this animation, I had to make 13 frames. I believe that it was quite challenging because I had to make sure the character drawing looked fairly accurate on each frame. To do this, I  decided to trace over the character.  I believe that making this animation has been useful because it has allowed me to learn how to clearly show a characters actions.

Exaggeration: When presenting this principle of animation within my work, I wanted to try and make this animation traditionally.  I wanted to use a traditional method because my previous animations were made digitally. Therefore, I wanted to experiment and show variation. For this animation I only used pencil. Because I only used four frames, I knew that the animation would be quite short, so I decided to create a GIF. To create this GIF, I used the Stop Motion Studio app.  I believe that creating this piece of work has been useful because I've been able learn to effectively portray characters emotions clearly to viewers. The emotion I wanted to portray for this character is shock.I have done this by drawing the character's eyes slightly larger in each frame so it looks like her eyes are widening. To extend this idea, I have raised her eyebrows and made her mouth open. Lastly, I've applied lines that visually exaggerate her emotions even more.  This will be helpful ...
Squash and Stretch: To practise applying the technique of squash and stretch to my work, I've made a traditional animation that shows a ball falling and bouncing.  Creating this animation has useful because I've been able to learn about form and shape. To make the ball look like it's been squashed, I made the circle slowly change into an oval shape. To make the ball appear to be bouncing off the ground, I stretched the ball back into the shape of a circle. I believe that this could been improved by altering the timing of the frames.
Arcs:
Appeal: Within this piece of work, I've shown an example of appeal. Appeal is important when creating your own characters because you want them to appear likeable. Making your character likeable makes them memorable.  For my short animation, I've made a monster looking around the scene. To make him likeable, I've used a cartoon style to make him appear friendly. Also, his pink, orange and blue colour scheme makes him stand out.  To improve this piece, I think that I should of made a full character designs and not just an illustration of the monster's head.
Slow In and Slow Out: For this piece of work, I've focused on creating an animation that shows the uses of the slow in and slow out principle. For this short animation, I decided to make it digitally by using Adobe Animate.  To present this principle, I've used more frames at the start and at the end. In between this animation, I've added less frames so that the square looks like it's moving at a faster pace.  I think that this animation example is successful because I've thought about how the number of frames will effect the speed of the rectangle. Therefore, I believe that timing is important when applying this principle.
